Faith is a magnetic force that bring miracles to you, but you have to step out into the realm of faith. Step out on the realms of faith and believe God. When you are faced with a decision, don’t contemplate or second guess what God wants you to do. The Four Stages of Entering the Glory Realm Stage One: FaithĮlijah told Elisha to stay in Gilgal-the turning point-while he went on to Bethel. Am I going to obey the Lord or am I going to listen to the enemy? Whatever God asks of you, do it with the most respect, humility, and honor. And you have to come to a moment when you decide. The gifts to enable the fulfillment of this call have been assigned to you. How hungry are you for the anointing? Will you disregard and disobey God? Your decision will set you on a course that will either result in abundance or darkness. Elijah wanted to know how hungry Elisha was for God’s glory. There comes a moment in every believer’s life when-like Elisha-they have to decide whether they will seek God and obey His instructions or not. He had to choose between what Elijah was telling him to do and what Elisha believed God had assigned to him. He had to make up his mind about going with Elijah or staying back as he told him to do. Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.Īnd so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”Įlisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me” (2 Kings 2:1-9).Įlisha was faced with a decision.
And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.
Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to the Jordan.”īut he said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So the two of them went on. So he answered, “Yes, I know keep silent!”
Now the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?” Then Elijah said to him, “Elisha, stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Jericho.”īut he said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they came to Jericho. Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?” Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.”īut Elisha said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel. Let’s follow along in the Bible’s story as told in 2 Kings:Īnd it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. And, through them all, Elisha stayed by his side. So, they went to Gilgal-the turning point.īefore Elijah was supernaturally taken up to Heaven in a whirlwind, he faced many challenges. He thought he knew how he was going to be promoted into the role of Elijah as a great prophet, but Elijah had something to teach his young student about obeying God. He thought he understood all there was to know about the ministry of the prophet and about receiving Elijah’s mantle. The meaning of Gilgal is “turning point.” Elisha was a young prophet with stars in his eyes. On their journey together, Elijah first took Elisha to Gilgal.
